Israeli occupation forces initiated a broad campaign of incursions and house raids across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem early Tuesday morning. The operations involved the arrest of citizens, field interrogations, and the discharge of live ammunition, coinciding with a continued three-day siege on Ramallah province that has severely restricted Palestinian mobility.
Tightening Restrictions in Jenin
In Jenin, troops entered the village of Marka to the southwest of the city, conducting raids on several residences while deploying infantry units throughout the area. Simultaneously, forces raided the Happiness Forest zone within Jenin city, firing live rounds. Operations extended to the town of Araba southwest of Jenin and the village of Arabouna to the northeast. A significant portion of the operation focused on restricting movement; soldiers installed iron gates at entrances to various villages, towns, and intersections, including Jalma, Ara’a, Deir Abu Daif, Aba, Umm al-Tut, and Qabatiya. Additional barriers were erected at the Jenin industrial zone, the entrance to German Jenin, the vicinity of the American Arab University, and the Zababda intersection. The university roundabout was closed during these installations, and further gates were placed along the bypass road to impede travel between communities.
Siege Continues in Ramallah
The siege on Ramallah persisted into its third day as forces intensified military presence. At the Mahallah checkpoint in the west, troops fired warning shots and halted vehicle traffic. In Salwad, located northeast of the city, soldiers entered following a settler attack on the outskirts, where local youths resisted. During the incursion, forces discharged live ammunition and sound bombs. Raids also targeted Deir Abu Mushal in the northwest and Al-Mazra’a Al-Sharqiya village. A new military checkpoint was established at the Mazra’a intersection, connecting Salwad and Deir Ghassir, where vehicles were stopped for identity checks, causing significant traffic congestion. Another checkpoint near Nalin’s Mahallah gate further exacerbated traffic crises by detaining vehicles and scrutinizing passengers.
Operations in Tulkarm, Tubas, and Beyond
In Tulkarm, forces stormed the Peace Roundabout and Pharaoh Street south of the city, accompanied by heavy deployment and gunfire. Commercial establishments were raided and searched, with several young men detained for field questioning. In Tubas, troops entered the city and raided a residence, while in Nablus, the gate to Sawaya town in the south was sealed. Further south, incursions occurred in Taqu’u, southeast of Bethlehem, amidst continuous armored vehicle movements, and in Hebron, where military presence remained high in multiple areas. These coordinated actions, aligned with rising settler violence, have compounded restrictions on daily life and economic activities for Palestinians across the region.
