Ministry of Agriculture Inspects Olive Mills in Al-Wusta

4 October، 2026

The Ministry of Agriculture has carried out a field inspection tour across several olive oil mills located within the Al-Wusta governorate. The primary objective of this initiative was to monitor ongoing operational activities and verify that these facilities are fully prepared to receive and process olives during the current agricultural season.

During the visit, officials examined the operational mechanisms of the mills and evaluated the conditions designated for receiving and storing the harvested fruit. The inspection also focused on the extent to which the mills adhere to established technical and health regulations. Furthermore, the team documented the most significant requirements and challenges currently facing mill owners. These difficulties are particularly acute given the damage inflicted upon the agricultural sector, alongside shortages in essential operating supplies and spare parts.

The Ministry emphasized the critical importance of supporting the functioning of available mills in the governorate. It described these facilities as a fundamental link in the olive oil production chain. Officials stated that efforts are directed toward ensuring product quality and safeguarding the rights of farmers by improving both the quantity and quality of the produced oil.

This monitoring activity is part of broader efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture to strengthen field supervision and guidance while supporting the olive sector. The inspections aim to catalog the specific needs of the mills, thereby contributing to the continuity of agricultural production and enhancing recovery efforts within the Gaza Strip’s agricultural sector.
