Qatar Denies Reports of PM’s Comments on Failed US-Iran Deal

7 November، 2026

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar, alongside the country’s International Media Office, officially denied on Saturday the authenticity of reports attributing statements to Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The alleged comments suggested that negotiations between the United States and Iran had failed to reach an agreement.

Official Rejection of Fabricated Claims

Majed Al-Ansari, spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, addressed the circulating rumors directly. He stated that allegations claiming the failure of both parties to conclude a deal were entirely baseless. Al-Ansari characterized these reports as a deliberate distortion of the Prime Minister’s actual statements. In a post published on the social media platform X, he emphasized that Qatar categorically rejects any attempts to mislead public opinion or undermine diplomatic efforts during this sensitive period.

Al-Ansari clarified that the Minister of Foreign Affairs has explicitly confirmed that both sides continue their work toward reaching an agreement. He noted that Qatari mediators remain engaged in close coordination with both Washington and Tehran to support the ongoing negotiations. The spokesperson warned that promoting such unfounded accusations serves only those seeking to prolong the war and destabilize the region.

Accusations of Coordinated Disinformation

In a separate statement, the International Media Office described the reports circulating via social media as misleading and devoid of truth. The office accused certain parties benefiting from continued conflict and instability in the region of orchestrating a systematic distortion of the Prime Minister’s remarks. According to the statement, fake accounts have been disseminating numerous false claims intended to frustrate diplomatic initiatives and push for further escalation. The office labeled these actions as highly irresponsible.

The statement reiterated that mediation efforts by Qatar persist without interruption. It highlighted that Qatari representatives maintain tight communication channels with both the United States and Iran to facilitate the dialogue. The official narrative underscores Qatar’s role as a constructive mediator committed to de-escalation rather than contributing to tensions through misinformation.

Diplomatic Context

These denials come amidst heightened regional scrutiny of diplomatic engagements aimed at containing the situation. Earlier interactions included communications between Qatar’s State Minister for Defense and the US Secretary of War, reflecting ongoing bilateral cooperation. The Qatari government maintains that its primary objective remains supporting stable resolutions through verified diplomatic channels, rejecting narratives that could jeopardize these fragile processes.
