On Wednesday morning, approximately 500 settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, marking the fifth day of what is referred to as the Jewish “Sukkot” festival. The incursions took place under strict security measures enforced by Israeli occupation forces, which simultaneously tightened restrictions on Muslim worshippers while facilitating the entry of settlers.
The Islamic Waqf in Jerusalem reported that dozens of settlers, led by former Knesset member Moshe Feiglin, breached the mosque’s precincts. According to local sources, Feiglin carried plant-based offerings and conducted a ritual known as the “Four Species” alongside a group of settlers in the eastern section of the compound.
During these activities, groups performed dances, sang collective songs, and executed various Talmudic rites within the eastern areas of the site. These actions occurred against a backdrop of heightened tension, with occupation troops significantly restricting access for Palestinian Muslims at the entrances while easing procedures for the settlers.
This event coincides with the ongoing Sukkot celebrations, a period historically characterized by an escalation in the frequency of settler incursions into the holy site. The previous day, Tuesday, saw 1462 settlers enter the compound under similar protective arrangements provided by Israeli security forces.
