Four Killed, Including Two Children and a Woman, in Israeli Airstrikes on Western Gaza

1 September، 2026

Four Palestinians were killed and eight others injured on Tuesday following a series of Israeli airstrikes that struck the Al-Katiba neighborhood and its surrounding areas in western Gaza City. The attacks occurred amidst ongoing fierce clashes, continuous gunfire, and explosions within the district.

Casualties and Hospital Reports

Mohammed Abu Salmiya, the director of Shifa Hospital in Gaza, confirmed to the press that the facility received four bodies, which included two children and an elderly woman, alongside eight patients requiring treatment. Local sources identified one of the victims as Abdullah Ahmed Hamouda, a 13-year-old boy who was killed during the bombardment.

Tactical Context and Military Movements

Gaza’s government media reported that an Israeli special forces unit attempted to execute a security operation within the city but was exposed during the mission. This exposure allegedly prompted the Israeli military to deploy air support, involving more than ten warplanes of various models. The subsequent airstrikes resulted in the deaths and injuries of civilians, while local reports indicated that several members of the special forces unit were also killed during the ensuing firefights.

Escalation and Civilian Impact

The intensity of the assault increased with the deployment of “Quadcopter” drones, which dropped bombs around the Al-Katiba area. These operations coincided with low-altitude flights by Israeli unmanned aircraft, accompanied by the release of smoke and sound grenades. Additionally, Israeli forces targeted two vehicles near the Napoli restaurant in western Gaza.

Local accounts describe a dire situation for residents, with numerous families and business owners trapped inside their homes and shops due to the relentless shelling and active combat zones. The western districts of Gaza City are currently experiencing a significant escalation in violence, characterized by persistent aerial raids and ground engagements, thereby heightening the immediate danger for civilians confined in the affected neighborhoods.
