Direct Warning from Riyadh
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, revealed that he received a direct and personal warning from the Saudi Arabian Minister of Defense. The communication indicated that Israel intends to expand its military operations beyond Iran, with Turkey identified as the next primary target, followed by a subsequent attack on Saudi Arabia. This disclosure was made during public remarks following the “Quad Meeting” held recently in Tehran.
Regional Coordination and Strategic Shifts
The meeting brought together representatives from major regional powers, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan. According to Rezaei, these delegates explicitly voiced concerns regarding Israel’s intentions to widen the scope of its aggression to include other Islamic nations. He stated that this shared awareness underscores the critical need for unified regional stances against current escalation trends. Rezaei linked these warnings to an urgent requirement for establishing a “new regional security structure,” arguing that Iran’s resilience and what he described as “defeating America” have compelled neighboring states to seriously consider this strategic direction.
Exclusion of Secondary Issues
Rezaei emphasized that any security framework in West Asia cannot be formed without Iran’s participation and centrality. He noted that the attendees were practically seeking to define the basic outlines of this new security architecture. Regarding the agenda of the Quad Meeting, he highlighted that participating countries adopted firm positions against Israel, focusing entirely on how to formulate future regional arrangements. He confirmed that the “Mecca Agreement” was not raised, nor was the issue of Yemen discussed, indicating a strict focus on comprehensive strategic and security files rather than bilateral or subsidiary regional matters.
