Demolition of Martyrs’ Homes
Israeli occupation forces detonated the residences of martyrs Ahmad and Hamouda Al-Ju’ba in the besieged Deir Balah neighborhood within the city of Hebron on Friday. Local sources confirmed that troops had entered both houses early in the morning, accompanied by engineering and explosives units. After planting charges inside the structures, which are located tens of meters apart, the forces triggered the explosions remotely in a synchronized operation.
The demolition occurred under a continued siege and closure imposed on the immediate vicinity of the properties. The targeted individuals, Ahmad and Hamouda Al-Ju’ba, were killed on October 23 following a shooting incident in Hebron that resulted in the death of two soldiers and injuries to others.
Ongoing Siege and Displacement Crisis
This act marks the eighth consecutive day of military operations in the Hebron governorate. Israeli forces maintain strict encirclements and closures over the Al-Jalda and Deir Balah districts. During this period, troops have conducted raids on civilian homes, damaging and looting contents. The number of families affected by these military actions has risen to more than 780. Among them, 537 families have been forcibly displaced entirely, while approximately 5,000 residents remain trapped under siege conditions facing forced displacement.
Since the commencement of the offensive, occupation forces have arrested over 115 individuals, including a girl. Hundreds of others have been detained and subjected to mistreatment. The military campaign has also severely disrupted education, halting face-to-face classes in 66 schools and impacting 2,872 students.
Economic Impact
The economic toll of the closures and restrictions continues to mount. The Hebron Chamber of Commerce estimates direct losses from the shutdowns at between 10 and 12 million shekels daily. The dairy sector alone accounts for losses of approximately one million shekels per day due to these measures.
