Israeli Military Seizes 741 Square Meters in Jenin’s Jabareen District

6 October، 2026

Israeli occupation forces executed a new seizure operation on Tuesday, taking control of 741 square meters of land located in the Jabareen neighborhood of Jenin city. The area falls under the administrative and security classification known as Area A. The military justified the action by declaring the land necessary for urgent military purposes.

This latest directive follows a previous military order issued on May 7, which targeted a significantly larger tract of land within the same geographical basin. That earlier order encompassed 7.247 dunums. According to media sources cited in reports, there is a limited partial overlap between the western edge of the newly targeted strip and the winding corridor covered by the previous decree. The new strip extends eastward beyond the boundaries of the former order.

The spatial connection between the two measures suggests they are part of a coordinated expansion rather than isolated incidents. However, due to the overlapping nature of the zones, the total new area seized does not represent a net increase in land subject to seizure orders compared to what was already placed under military control previously.

The sequential issuance of these orders has raised concerns regarding the gradual tightening of military control over the Jabareen district. The continuity and spatial linkage of these seizures threaten to alter the physical reality on the ground, affecting local movement routes and land ownership patterns. This development is particularly sensitive given that the targeted lands are situated within Area A, where Palestinian civil and security authority typically operates under the Oslo Accords framework.
