Systematic Denial of Aid
The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip stated on Tuesday that Israeli forces are implementing a policy of “silent starvation” against civilians through engineered deprivation. The office described this as a systematic method of preventing humanitarian aid from entering the territory, allowing only minimal percentages that fail to meet the escalating needs of the population.
Catastrophic Economic Collapse
According to the office’s press statement, more than 95 percent of citizens in Gaza rely entirely on humanitarian assistance for survival. Simultaneously, over 90 percent of the population has completely lost their purchasing power, rendering them unable to buy food independently. This economic collapse leaves residents dependent on whatever limited supplies enter the strip to survive.
Violation of Ceasefire Agreements
The office highlighted that Israel deliberately blocks hundreds of thousands of trucks, an approach characterized as clear and systematic starvation. Only 35 percent of the agreed-upon food quantities are permitted entry, meaning 65 percent of the required food is prevented from arriving. Data provided by the office indicates that over 330 days since the ceasefire agreement was signed, only 69,387 aid and food trucks were allowed into Gaza out of the 198,000 trucks stipulated in the deal.
Diplomatic Demands and Warnings
The Government Media Office strongly condemned the starvation policy directed at the Palestinian people, holding Israel and all supporting states fully responsible for this organized deprivation. It called on international institutions and organizations to clarify the reality of what it termed a “brutal crime” to global public opinion, exposing the dimensions of the resulting humanitarian disaster.
In light of the extended danger of the humanitarian situation, the office issued an urgent appeal to the international community, the Security Council, mediators, and parties sponsoring the ceasefire agreement. It demanded immediate and real pressure on Israel to abandon its starvation policy and comply with the signed agreements, ensuring the general flow of food and aid trucks into Gaza. The office warned that concerned international parties bear full responsibility for the consequences of the catastrophic humanitarian crisis if Israel fails to respond to international pressures.
