A Palestinian citizen was declared dead on Tuesday morning due to injuries he sustained during an Israeli airstrike that targeted the northwestern area of Khan Yunis city in southern Gaza. The incident occurred as Israeli military operations, including gunfire and artillery bombardment, persisted across multiple districts within the strip.
According to a field report by Zareefa Abu Qoura, a correspondent for Radio Alam in Gaza, the victim was identified as Imad Omar Ahmad Radi, 39 years old. He succumbed to his wounds following an attack that hit the Japanese neighborhood in northwest Khan Yunis on Monday morning. His death was confirmed early Tuesday, bringing the toll of recent casualties higher in the region.
In a separate development, the funeral procession for Ahmed Barika took place at Nasser Medical Complex. Barika had been killed the previous evening after being struck by a bullet fired from positions controlled by the Israeli army in the Batn Al-Samin area, located south of Khan Yunis. His burial marked another loss amid the ongoing hostilities in the southern governorate.
On the ground, Israeli forces opened fire from their controlled zones south of Khan Yunis city and near the Al-Masdar cemetery in the central part of the governorate. Simultaneously, Israeli naval vessels launched several artillery shells toward the coastal waters bordering the cities of Khan Yunis and Gaza. Residents also reported hearing explosions believed to be the result of Israeli artillery shelling inside the Yellow Line areas east of Khan Yunis.
Regarding border crossings, the Crossings Authority announced that the Kerem Abu Salim and Rafah land crossings would operate on Tuesday. However, the Zikim and Kissufim crossing points remained closed. These operational adjustments come amidst continuous Israeli violations of field boundaries in various parts of Gaza, accompanied by gunfire and shelling that continue to endanger Palestinian lives.
